GREATER WASHINGTON APO
Reuben R. Roque
Gamma Iota, 1985
Auditor
Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega
Greetings! It is my honor and privilege to be a part of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity and Sorority family since 1985 at the Philippine Christian University (Gamma Iota). I’m proud to say that during the latter part of the 1980’s, our Brothers and Sisters at Gamma Iota were in the forefront of the student activism movement as leaders of their respective student organizations. I have been active in our great Fraternal organization since 1985, expect for a short period of time when I immigrated to Seattle, Washington in 1989. I am currently an HR Specialist with the US Department of Veterans Affairs based in Seattle, an active member of our Church, and currently serving as member of the Executive Board of the Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega (GWAPO).
In a stroke of luck in the early 1990’s, I met Bro. JP Paredes (ETA) during a church function. This chance meeting resulted in meeting other resident Brothers and Sisters and their families in the state of WA. With great confidence, we created and formed the Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega (GWAPO) in 2003 after a break-up from the now defunct APOAAWA. GWAPO, since its inception, has steadily been growing with its membership, continuously dedicating themselves in the pursuit of the guiding principles of the Alpha Phi Omega.
As a member of the Executive Board and on behalf of the officers and members of the Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega, we welcome our Brothers and Sisters, families, and friends to the 16h APO ACNA Biennial Convention.
