Meryl Roxanne Demdam-Townsend, RN

Delta Psi 2000A

Meryl Roxanne Demdam-Townsend was inspired to pledge, as she grew up in an APO-centric family. Her mother, Nemia Aquino (d. 2000), an APO Sister of the Alpha Nu Chapter and her godfather, Carlos Cortes, Jr., were very active and influential members in Naga City during Meryl's adolescence.  Consequently, Meryl pledged as one of the 5 members of Soap Opera Batch 2000-A Delta Psi Chapter (Universidad de Santa Isabel).

Since Meryl's initiation, she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had served terms as Grand Lady Chancellor for Delta Psi, as Features Editor of the USI College Gazette, as Naga City Youth Official, as member of the USI BSN Debating Team, and a Quiz Bee Champion. With the Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega (GWAPO), she served as a Treasurer (2020-2021), and was appointed as a GWAPO voting delegate to the APO ACNA 15th Biennial Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2021. Meryl is part of the Marketing Committee of the APO ACNA 16th Biennial Convention on September 1 – 3, 2023 in Seattle, Washington.

Currently, Meryl resides in the Seattle Metropolitan Area where she works as a Consulting Nurse for Kaiser Permanente. She is a wife to Darrell and a mother to two wonderful daughters, Alessandra and Pia, aged 6 and 13, respectively. She hopes to pass on her APO values to her children and to see them have positive impacts on their communities.
